Volunteer Opportunities


Do you want to share your passion about the natural world with others? Do you enjoy butterflies and fascinated with how bees buzz, ants live in a colony or how string rays swim so effortlessly?

Are you outgoing and ready to have fun? We need you! We are seeking volunteers to support Butterfly Wonderland as we provide provide interactive, hands-on tours to general visitors, school groups and adult tours. Watch as visitors get excited about insects, life cycles, and science.

Training for the volunteer educator positions are held monthly. Volunteers will come away with an understanding and appreciation of what lives in a tropical rainforest setting and be able to share that information with others. .

Junior Volunteer Opportunities


Teens ages 13 to 17 can be part of our education team as they volunteer alongside Butterfly Wonderland staff throughout the summer, sharing Fun Facts with children and information about our exhibits through Discovery Education Carts featuring hands-on examples. This is a great opportunity to learn about the "behind-the-scenes" work required to present programs, events and gain valuable experience interacting with the public. Applicants must be interviewed prior to being accepted into the Junior Volunteer Program. All Junior Volunteers will be trained, supervised and must provide their own transportation.
